Mision,Vision and Core Values
Our Mission
(What we are doing)
Our mission is to develop fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Because Jesus came to seek and to save the lost, we feel compelled to do the same. But Jesus went beyond rescuing people from hell; He wanted to make them fit for heaven. Through the various ministries of our church, we desire for people to not only meet Christ, but, over time, to grow in their faith so that they live obediently to His commands and become conformed to His character.
Our Vision
(What we are becoming)
Our vision is to become a vibrant, biblically-functioning community.
We cannot fulfill Christ's mission alone as individuals. That is one of the primary reasons He establishes churches. Together we can build His kingdom, accomplish His mission, and fulfill His vision. Together, we can accurately reflect Christ to the world.
Our long-term vision includes a large theatre to host both church and community events, a gymnasium, activity centers for youth, adults, and seniors, a preschool and daycare center, K-12 Christian schools, and a counseling center. This is an ambitious vision, but God's plan for humanity is a holistic one, wanting to develop us spiritually, emotionally, physically, educationally, and socially. Nevertheless, we realize that the most critical aspect of life is the spiritual; lives not built upon a relationship with Christ are like buildings erected on sand. Therefore, we strive to build a vibrant, Biblically-functioning church where God is worshipped and people are touched by the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Our Core Values
Because we are a collection of diverse individuals, we naturally have slightly different values with regard to how we go about serving Christ. Yet certain common values unify our efforts and define our distinctives.
Value #1: We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore should matter to the church.
Value #2: We believe that Christ-followers should manifest authenticity and yearn for continuous growth.
Value #3: We believe that the church should operate as a unified community of servants with men and women stewarding their spiritual gifts.
Value #4: We believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.
Value #5: We believe that life-change happens best in small groups.
Value #6: We believe that the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure.
Value #7: We believe that the pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause should be reflected in the lifestyle of every believer.
Our Belief
What we believe about God: We believe there is one true, holy God who has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each of whom possess all the attributes of deity. These three are coequal and are one God. In the beginning, God created out of nothing the world and all the things therein, thus manifesting the glory of His power, wisdom and goodness. By His sovereign power He continues to sustain His creation. By His providence, He is operating throughout history to fulfill His redemptive purposes.
What we believe about humankind: Men and women were made in the spiritual image of God; created to be like Him in character and to enjoy fellowship with Him and one another. But despite the graciousness and generosity of God which was lavished upon the first man and woman, they chose to go their own independent way, and were thus separated from God by their sin. Their disobedience and rejection of God caused a corruption of human nature which was passed down to subsequent generations. All who have been born by the union of a man and a woman are marred by this sin nature and will suffer the consequences of the Fall.
What we believe about salvation: Because of the Fall, all men and women are born with a nature that gravitates away from God, consistently inclined to reject Him in favor of selfish desires. We are thus incapable of seeking the will of God or pleasing Him. Therefore, salvation is wholly a work of God's free grace, not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness. It is appropriated only by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. And because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.
What we believe about Eternity: Man was created to exist forever. Physical death seals the eternal destiny of each person. For all mankind, there will be a judgment that decrees the fate of each individual. Men and women will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Eternal Life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
What we believe about Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the eternal second Person of the Trinity who was united forever with a true human nature by a miraculous conception and virgin birth. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory where He continually makes intercession for His own. He will physically and visibly return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, thus consummating history and the eternal plan of God.
What we believe about the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and coequal with the Father and the Son as God. He enlightens the mind of sinners, awakens in them a recognition of their need of a Savior and regenerates them. At the point of salvation He permanently indwells every believer to become a source of assurance, strength and wisdom, and uniquely endows each believer with gifts for the building up of Christ's kingdom. He also guides believers in understanding and applying Scripture. His power and control are appropriated by faith, making it possible for the believer to lead a life of Christlike character and to bear fruit to the glory of the Father.
What we believe about the Bible: The Bible is God's Word to all people and the sole basis of our beliefs. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe that because God is the true Author, it is truth without any mixture of error. There are no other writings similarly inspired by God.
What we believe about the Church: A church is a group of Christians who have joined together to fulfill the commission given by Jesus to spread the Gospel and make disciples. They are bonded together by love and a common commitment to the cause of Christ and are governed by the principles of the New Testament. Churches have two ordinances: baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper, both of which are symbolic in nature.
The Vision
Our vision is to reach our community and make a difference in the lives they live through the good news of Jesus Christ. We believe we can accomplish this through helping people discover God's purpose for their life through teamwork, creativity and excellence.
